P-E-R-S-E-V-E-R-A-N-C-E (Find out what it means to me)

You guys... I want to show you what the face of perseverance looks like...

Yeah that's right... that goofy look trying to look cool at the steps of the Philadelphia Art Museum is what perseverance is.

Now you might be saying, why is crazy Haemi talking about this?

Well... because the past few months, I was struggling... BIG TIME. The past few months might have been the hardest months that I have been through for a while (maybe the third hardest moment... after me being born and me trying to get into college hah!) I was started a job that wasn't what I thought it was, and after seeing all the red flags and wrong things that occurred, I realized that I was on a collision course. And through that time, trying to persevere was the last thing on my mind.

When you are about to crash into something, usually the first thing that comes to mind is "OMFG ADLKFJLDSK GOTTA JUMP SHIP!!"... and you would tuck and roll and avoid the disaster. That's common sense telling us to do that. But perseverance is different- it's what that crazy voice in the back sometimes says but common sense tries to hush it up. That voice usually says "stick it out to the end- don't give up just yet". See- that sounds crazy right? But I have to admit... that voice was right...

If I didn't stick it out till the end, I wouldn't have gained anything from it... I wouldn't have the horror stories that happened in and out of the office, I wouldn't have see the face of evil (which is old by the way... super, super, super old!) and I wouldn't have the bragging rights that I have survived the worst workplace in the world! (yay no therapy!)

Anyway- I just wanted to say that a lot of times we don't like to "persevere" in anything... we are very fickle and two sided. If we don't like something, obviously we stop and do something else. But I just wanted to give my readers some thought- maybe give that voice a chance. Maybe there is something good at the end of it... good at the end of all the work and struggle you would go through.

Maybe the good looks like that face up there? Who knows! :)

Till next time!

Philly bound!! (What I did this weekend!)

So a lot of changes occurred this weekend (but I'll get to that later)

To celebrate the beginning to a new start, I decided to take an impromptu trip to Philly!

I got to to say Philadelphia is a great city to do a one day trip at- it cost basically nothing! It was fun to see all the fun attractions- like the steps that Rocky ran up... thought I'm sure the real reason he ran up those stairs was because he really wanted to see the museum! hahah!

Then after, I did the tradition of eating at Jim's, went window shopping and tested out many bathrooms! (Cause I'm old and nature is my best friend who calls on me constantly!!

There was one difference that happened... I TRIED WAWA FOR THE FIRST TIME!!! Totally worth it!!! LOOK HOW HAPPY I AM!! Seriously... now that I'm writing this entry, I want another hoagie... UGHH WHY CAN'T MY DREAMS COME TRUE?!?!

Til next time!

Haemi does Amish! (What I did this weekend...)

Hello everyone!

I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend! Especially since it was a longer weekend then usual!

So I guess you guys are wondering what I did during the weekend? Well... I'll tell you!

I ended up going to Lancaster, PA- home to the Amish, a group of people that live differently according to their religion. It's basically corn fields, horse buggies, root beers and Amish People!

It was a great time! Fresh air (that stunk like horse poop half the time), train cars everywhere and the serene non-bustling sound of the country side is what I really wanted!

We ate some really good food- like traditional diner food like cream chipped beef and scrapple (which is so good but odd!)

I also got some Shoofly Pie, a ton of root beer and the obvious candy and ice cream (because I got to let the kid in me have a little fun!)

I stayed in a hotel room that used to be a train car! It was super cool- wasn't fancy or anything but if we randomly felt like we needed to go for a ride... I'm sure we could take our room! And there was more hotel fun going on too- like taking photos on a train track like rebel without a cause, having Fozzy the Bear give me a ride home after one to many wines and feeding alpacas that want to bite my hands off!

I also learned a lot about the Amish way of life and more. It was a great experience and I hope to use it more stories that I write!

Also, I did the obligatory bike ride to get to know the lands a little better.

It was a fun and relaxing vacation and I can't wait to take another soon!

That's it for now! Till next time!

What I did this weekend (and the past weekends before that!)

Hello hello!

It has been a long while since I had an update, right!

A lot of cool things happened... and I'm here to update you guys!

I was able to go to a few Mets games this year, including one of me doing Banner Day! I think the best time I had was sitting near my brother's favorite player, Curtis Granderson. The seats that I recently got were the best. It was like he was standing right in front of me! (He was but still!)

Spending the summer like a true american- all about baseball!

Well, first off, guess who was 3 stories tall in Time Square... ME! THAT'S RIGHT! I was able to run to Nasdaq and help a company ring in their new IPO... (finance stuff, I still don't know what it means) and the photos of that time is posted on their electronic tv in Time Square... It was fun to look like I knew what was going on and had some financial importance... but..... I'll just stick to doing art and comics for now!

Then the other times were just doing random things around the city- such as grabbing a drink (and slurrpee) at the People Improve Theater, watching some funny shows, and going to Juicy Spot Cafe where they make rolled Thai Ice Cream, right in front of you!

That's all the updates for now!

Till next time!

Hello everyone!

It has been a crazy few weeks and there hasn't been much of an update!

So here is a super edition update for you guys!

Two weeks ago, I went to Harvard University...

Not to enroll in school (because I don't think I can ever be THAT smart to attend) but for some research for some comic stories!)

It was a fun (but tiring and tedious) and also this time, I had a crazy "research assistant" (aka my mother... who disappeared 90% of the time that I actually needed her lol) with me.

TIme spent with my head in the books + good clam chowder and crab cakes = not a bad time in Boston

But that doesn't mean that I am warming up to Boston... still would rather be in NYC... hahah!

After that, I just spent all my time looking at my research info and taking notes...

Along with keeping the theme of eating Seafood...

Yeah man... my allergies to shellfish did not forgive me at all... hahaha!! (cries)

This past weekend, I spent my whole time eating good food!

There was free ice cream at Morgenstern's and I had cute piggies for dimsum! (It's a custard bun filling so it's just as sweet!)

Then after that, I basically died... when you go hardcore at cycling, you should expect to hardcore recover!

Welp till next time!
